Pandas
get early Christmas News
The
future of Pandas basketball got a little brighter in December when we received a
commitment from Nicole Clarke. She is a 5'11" point guard from
Calgary
(E.P.Scarlett) who is currently training with our Junior National team program
in the National Elite Development Academy (NEDA) in
Hamilton
,
Ontario
. Nicole was a two year member of the Alberta Juvenile Provincial team
(winning Bronze in 2006 and Silver in 2007), and was named a first team all-star
at the 2006 tournament. Christine Stapleton, Jr. Women's National Team
Coach had this to say; "Nicole is a competitive, aggressive point guard
that is progressing well at the
National
Elite
Development
Academy
. She was voted team captain by her team-mates and has great leadership
skills. She is working extremely hard on her basketball skills as well as
the physical training component to the program."
Coach Edwards believes that along with the earlier signing of Katie Arbuthnot,
we have the best two guards in the Province joining the
Pandas next year, "Nicole is an exceptionally talented and hard working
individual. While everyone can see her natural gifts as a player, her best
qualities are her leadership and commitment to team play. We are very
pleased that Nicole has decided to join the Pandas Basketball family".
